Savannah Fund has today launched a platform dubbed Waterhole that will be home to content for entrepreneurs and investors in the African continent. In an email to partners, the Venture Capital firm said that it’ll use the platform to aggregate the best resources for this particular category of people;

The VC hopes that this portal will help inform and educate readers about activities of Venture capitalists in Africa with resources inform of articles written by the partners, entrepreneurs and other influential people in the Tech space. The micro-site will also house news on Savannah Fund, videos, slides, events and downloadable PDFs.

“In our experience working with both entrepreneurs and investors, we found a great need in the African tech startup ecosystem for a page to aggregate the best resources and content on entrepreneurship for budding entrepreneurs authored from practitioners.”

The resource will help budding entrepreneurs gain insight into Product, Engineering, Marketing to expanding across multiple countries in Africa. Waterhole is anchored with content that originated from Erik Hersman’s Whiteafrican.com and Mbwana’s former column from Afrinnovator.  There will be steady posts starting with their portfolio of now 13 startup founders across the continent’s 3 regional tech hubs (South Africa, East and West Africa).

However, it goes without saying that VCs such as Savannah Fund have continuously gone to ignore the significance of Tech-focused blogs across the continent such as Techcabal, Techmoran and Dignited that have already gone to great length to enlighten entrepreneurs and investors about African innovations.
