Microsoft has launched the Outlook.com email service and is now available for everyone. The new webmail service from Microsoft comes with the new user interface, robust account security, industry leading spam protection, minimal advertisements, Office Web apps, ability to connect to Facebook and Twitter, and more.

While it’s possible to get an @Outlook.com email address, Microsoft has made it easy for existing MSN, Hotmail, and Live account users to experience the new webmail service.

Existing Hotmail, MSN, and Live users can upgrade to Outlook.com by keeping the email address, password, contacts, and old emails. To upgrade to Outlook.com, sign-in to your Hotmail, simply click Upgrade option present in the Options menu to explore the new email service. When you rename your existing email address to @Outlook.com address, your new email address just like the old one and you won’t lose anything.

Besides, it’s also possible to rename your existing Hotmail, Live, and MSN email address to @Outlook.com. For instance, if your current email address is [email protected], you can rename it to [email protected] provided that the name is available. When you log in to your new inbox, you can choose to keep your old emails in a separate folder or in your inbox as well. Whenever you receive mail to your old address, you will see it in your inbox or the newly created folder. Account information such as contacts, photos, and documents will switch to your new address within a few days.

So, follow the given below procedure to rename your existing Hotmail & Live account to Outlook.com.
