Monthly rollup KB4041693 also brings a series of Internet Explorer fixes that patch various graphics issues, as well as the bug where Internet Explorer stops responding to a navigation request, and more.
On the other hand, security update KB4041687 adds only a series of security enhancement to the following Windows component: Windows Search Component, Windows kernel-mode drivers, Microsoft Graphics Component, Internet Explorer, Windows kernel, Windows Wireless Networking, Windows Storage and Filesystems, Microsoft Windows DNS, Windows Server, Microsoft JET Database Engine, and the Windows SMB Server.

If you’re planning to install KB4041693, keep in mind that you may receive an error message informing your that an application exception has occurred when closing certain apps that use mshtml.dll to load web content. Microsoft is aware of this issue and its engineers are working to find a solution for this problem.
