There is no doubt that Microsoft eagerly wants to replace the old Control Panel with the new Settings app, but only time will tell when Microsoft will complete migrating all tools and settings from the traditional Control Panel to the Settings app.
The Control Panel allows you to access various system and admin tools with a click. One can change the Control Panel view to small icons or large icons to quickly view all available tools and launch them.
Sure, some of the system tools can be accessed by right-clicking on the Start menu. You can add more tools to the power user menu (also known as Win+X menu) using a third-party tool called Win+X Menu Editor.
But if you are looking for an easy way to quickly access all system tools right from the taskbar, you can pin Control Panel to the taskbar and then pin all system tools to Control Panel’s jump list. This way, you will be able to access all system tools with a click. Here is how to do that.
Easily access all system tools
Step 1: Launch Control Panel by typing Control Panel in the Start menu or taskbar search box and then pressing Enter key. You can also open Control Panel by typing Control in Run command box and then pressing Enter.
Step 2: Right-click on the Control Panel icon in the taskbar, click Pin to taskbar option to pin Control Panel to the taskbar.
If you want, you can move the pinned Control Panel icon to the left or right on the taskbar. To do so, hover the mouse icon on the Control Panel icon, click and hold, and then drag to the left or right.
Step 3: Now, open Control Panel by clicking on its icon on the taskbar. Change the Control Panel view to Small or Large icons, and click on all system tools that you want to quickly access from the desktop. You don’t need to use those tools. You may close them after launching.
Step 4: Finally, right-click on the Control Panel icon on the taskbar to see all recently accessed tools in the jump list. Click the Pin icon next to the tool name to pin it to the jump list. We recommend you pin important system tools to the jump list so that you can quickly access them.
