Prevent Photos from Appearing in Spotlight Search
When you use the Spotlight Search on iPhone, it can bring up your personal Photos and videos in addition to other search results from the internet.
This happens, if iPhone decides that certain Photos stored on your device are somehow related or relevant to your search terms or might be useful or helpful to you.
While Photos appearing in Spotlight Search might be useful in certain cases, many users do not find this useful and do not like the idea of Personal Photos appearing in search results.
Hence, iPhone provides the option to totally prevent Photos from appearing in Spotlight Search and also the option to stop certain or selected Photos from appearing in Spotlight Search.
1. Stop Photos from Appearing in Spotlight Search on iPhone
All that is required to prevent Photos from appearing in Spotlight Search on iPhone to go to Settings > Siri & Search > Photos and move toggle next to Show App in Search to OFF position.
After this, you should no longer find Photos appearing in Search results, when you use the Spotlight Search to search for anything on your iPhone.
2. Prevent iPhone from Suggesting Photos on Home Screen & Apps
Even if you prevent photos from appearing in Spotlight Search, you will find iPhone suggesting Photos on the Home Screen and other Apps.
You can prevent this from happening by going to Settings > Siri & Search > Photos and moving the toggle next to Show on Home Screen and Suggest App to OFF position.
Note: Disabling these options prevents iPhone from suggesting Photos in Memory Albums.
3. Stop Certain Photos from Appearing in Spotlight Search
All that is required to prevent your privite Photos from appearing in Spotlight Search results is to Hide Those Photos on your device.
Open Photos App > select the Photo that you want to hide and then tap on the Share Icon (bottom left)
On the pop-up, select the Hide option.
On the confirmation pop-up, tap on Hide Photo to confirm.
