After all the negative comments the Creators Update has received, it’s refreshing to see that some people have actually found something worth praising within Microsoft’s latest software update. According to user neutral_fence_sitter, opening the post-update OneNote for the first time was quite the surprise as their previously opened notebooks from the Insider builds popped up immediately. Here’s what the Reddit user had to say:
Some users were a bit on the fence in an ironic contrast with the OP’s comments. They wanted to know what the difference was between the UWP version of OneNote and the regular 365 version, with a a fellow Reddit user providing a competent explanation:
“No more duplicating huge notebooks on disk just to open them in both programs. I opened 20 notebooks in 2016 after the creators update on insider builds and when I opened the App for the first time all my opened notebooks were already there.
Thanks OneNote Team”
It would seem that as far as the OneNote app and the OneNote team are concerned, the Creators Update is a success that made users both happy and eager to use the new implemented features.
“They added lots of pen and math features. They are reminiscent of the old math plug in that never worked with 365, but improved.
The pen modes work very nicely. Pencil vs pen. Helps me with sketching ideas.
It has more page options regarding color. For example you can make a page completely black. This is pretty nice for taking notes in a very dark meeting room.
Also I like the preview you get of recent pages.”
