New Windows Mixed Reality Titles Are In The Works At Microsoft Studios

In October, Microsoft and the company’s hardware partners launched the very first Windows Mixed Reality headsets to the market. Their goal was and still is to democratize VR with more affordable plug-and-play hardware.

Currently, the primary use cases involve games and entertainment. From now on, the Windows Mixed Reality Platform will also provide support for SteamVR games.

Knowing how essential gaming is right now, Microsoft already launched Minecraft VR and a new Halo VR experience in the form of Halo: Recruit, both of them now available on the Microsoft Store.

Fortunately, it seems that there are many more Windows Mixed Reality games in the pipeline at Microsoft.

The company currently believes that at least for now, Windows PC is the best platform for Mixed Reality. A Windows powered system with its open ecosystem and substantial install base provide the best opportunities for developers. Windows, on the other hand, also offers the most consumer choices.

Microsoft’s main focus is to make the Windows Mixed Reality experience a huge success. A spokesperson from Microsoft admitted that there are lots of games from Microsoft Studios that are currently in development for Windows Mixed Reality, with game developers working closely with Microsoft to bring their titles to Windows Mixed Reality.

Microsoft has some cool IPs in its portfolio, and it was pretty great to see the newest Halo coming to the Windows Mixed Reality. You can also play Microsoft Solitaire in Windows Mixed Reality at the moment as a pinned UWP app.

On the other hand, no one would mind having true VR versions of Minesweeper and Solitaire and more titles available in Windows Mixed Reality.
