A new firmware update has been released for Surface Go by Microsoft. All the Surface Go devices that are equipped with the Windows 10 April 2018 Update or newer versions of Windows 10 can now get the update.

The new update brings many improvements. These improvements are targeting wireless performance and Surface Pen issues. The update also helps users to quickly connect their Bluetooth headphones and other devices by introducing support for Bluetooth Quick Pairing.

Surface Go Firmware Update Changes

The release notes for the update state the following changes:

Surface Pen Firmware Update (3.0.10) – System devices

The change deals with System devices. An intermittent Pentop button click failure bug was introduced after the installation of Windows 10 October 2018 Update on Surface Pen with no clip.

Surface Pen Integration Device (1.0.9.0) – Human Interface Devices

The change is related to Human Interface Devices. The Surface Pen with no clip gets a firmware update this time.

Surface UEFI (1.0.14.0) – Firmware

This Firmware change is aimed at improving system stability.

Surface CIF Device (4.0.11.0) – System devices

This firmware update deals with System devices and works to enhance compatibility with Windows 10 S mode.

Qualcomm Atheros Bluetooth 4.1 (10.0.0.709) – Bluetooth

The change offers support for Bluetooth quick pairing and enhances wireless security.

Qualcomm Atheros Wireless Network Adapter (12.0.0.722) – Network adapters

The change belongs to Network adapters and aims to enhance Miracast support and wireless security.

It should be noted that the firmware update won’t be released for the LTE model and it will only be applicable to the standard Surface Go.
