New Power Slider To Be Present On Windows 10 Oem Devices

Microsoft is working with OEMs to improve Windows 10 even further in order to give the best possible performance to users who buy new hardware, a focus of which is the battery life on OEM laptops.

To help, Microsoft will be introducing a new power slider that should be able on select devices in the future. The new power slider should make it easier for users to adjust a device’s power plan in order to get the best possible performance at any given moment.

The new power slider is already available in the latest Preview build 15014 for Windows 10. However, Microsoft this feature is not functional yet, as Microsoft just wants to see how it fits in Windows 10’s UI and get some early feedback from the Insiders.

Judging by the current look of the power slider, users will be able to change between power modes by moving the slider. There are also some additional options, like automatically choosing the best performance or the best battery life.

Microsoft still isn’t clear about its plans for this feature. According to the build announcement post, the company will work with OEMs on customization of this feature in order to give customers the best settings. In that manner, the power slider will be definitely present in future Windows 10 OEM devices.

However, we’re still not sure whether all other users will receive it. But, as the release of the Creators Update for Windows 10 approaches, we’ll surely get a clearer image about the situation soon.
