Move Date Clock To The End Of Taskbar In Windows 10

With Windows 10 Anniversary Update, Microsoft made a couple of changes to the Start menu as well as the taskbar. The Start menu has been revamped to display all installed apps by default, and it no longer shows the All apps button.

Microsoft has made a small change to the taskbar in the Anniversary Update, but many seem to have not noticed it. The date and clock on the taskbar appear just before the Action Center icon instead of after the Action Center icon.

Nearly all users have either ignored this change or didn’t notice the change at all. But some users are very particular about the look of the taskbar and always prefer to see date & clock before the small desktop peek preview button.

While you can move other icons on the taskbar such as the battery, Wi-Fi/network, and volume icons, Windows 10 doesn’t allow you to move the date & clock and Action Center with default settings.

If you are one of those users who are very particular about the location of the clock on the taskbar and want to move date and clock to the end of the taskbar, you have two options to choose from.

The following are the two ways to move the clock on the taskbar to the end of the taskbar in Windows 10 Anniversary Update (version 1607) or later versions of Windows 10.

Method 1 of 2

Hide Action Center icon

Hiding the Action Center icon is the easiest way to move date and clock to the end of the taskbar in Windows 10 Anniversary Update.

And you can access the Action Center even after hiding the Action Center by using the Windows logo + A hotkey. This means you can get rid of the Action Center icon without actually disabling it.

Here is how to hide or remove the Action Center from taskbar:

Step 1: Open the Settings app and navigate to Personalization > Taskbar to open taskbar settings.

Step 2: Under the Notification area section, click Turn system icons on or off link.

Step 3: Now, look for the Action Center icon and turn it off. That’s it! The date and clock on the taskbar should now appear at the end of the taskbar, just before the desktop peek button.

Use this third-party software

There is a nifty utility called ClockPositionRighteousifier to move the date and clock to the right of the Action Center icon in the Windows 10 Anniversary Update. Here is how to use it:

Step 1: Jump over to this page and download the ClockPositionRighteousifier.zip file.

Step 2: Extract the zip file to get the ClockPositionRighteousifier folder.

Step 3: Open up the folder to see binaries, source, and a Readme file.

Step 4: Double-click on the binaries folder to see CPR_x64 and CPR_x86 folders.

Step 5: Depending on your type of Windows 10 (check if you’re running 32-bit or 64-bit Windows 10), open up either CPR_x64 or CPR_x86.

Step 6: Right-click cprdll.dll file and click Properties. Check the Unblock box and then click Apply.

Step 7: Right-click on ClockPositionRighteousifier.exe file, click Properties, check Unblock, and then click Apply.

Step 8: Lastly, run ClockPositionRighteousifier.exe file by double-clicking on it to move date and clock to the right of the Action Center icon in the Windows 10 taskbar. That’s it!

If you want ClockPositionRighteousifier to start with Windows 10, please add it to the startup folder. To restore the old look, double-click on ClockPositionRighteousifier.exe file located under the CPR_x64 or CPR_x32 folder.
