Well, there’s a new app in the Microsoft Store, developed by Explorer Intern Project and spotted by WalkingCat that does that and more.
The new app is called AppManager, which sounds suspiciously like an internal Microsoft name.
How does AppManager works?
AppManager looks a lot like the Apps & Features list from the Settings option in Windows 10. A big hint to that is the Optional features (opens the Settings app) button.
However, AppManager is targetted more at Task Manager functions.
Basically, you can use the AppManager app to uninstall apps from Windows 10 but you can also use it to monitor running apps and to terminate them.
You can use AppManager as a mini Task Manager
If you click on the Running button you will instantly see the running apps at the present time in Windows 10 and in the right pane you will also see data like CPU, disk , and memory usage.
To terminate an app, just click on the down arrow from the right of each app in the list and click on Force Close. Of course, you can also uninstall it.
What makes it more interesting about the AppManager is that you can even uninstall Cortana with it and you can’t do that by using the Settings > Apps option.
Other strange information regarding AppManager is its size. The app description in the Microsoft store specifies an approximate size of 102.01 MB but when we downloaded it was only 42 MB.
We don’t really know if it’s an experiment or a fully-fledged app in development but from our brief experience with it, it just worked without any glitches.
You can download AppManager for free from the Microsoft Store.
If you install and use it, tell us about your experience with it or about any problems you encountered.
